Come Join Us!

On Wednesday, October 25th, we welcomed a couple of new readers—Amy Gantt and Bo Kot!  We missed those who were not with us for the discussion of The Bishop’s Wife.  The topics for the discussion were interesting and ranged from incest to the role of women today and also included the loss of a child, etc.  Thank you, Bill, for leading the discussion.
We are not able to get A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman for our next title so we are reading My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by the same author.  There may be a couple of books left at the library for sign out. We will meet Nov. 29th at 10 am. The discussion will be led by Claire.  If you have read A Man Called Ove this could be part of the discussion.  A Man Called Ove will be remade in the U.S. and Tom Hanks will be Ove.  This book is very popular right now. There may be individual titles available via inter library loan.
Here are some suggestions for books from our members:
A Natural History of the Senses by Diane Ackerman ( author of Zookeeper’s Wife)—suggested by Bill
Origin by Dan Brown—suggested by Claire
The Book That Matters Most by Ann Hood—suggested by Luann
Also recommended by Bill was a new movie,"Same Kind of Different as Me" based on the true  book by Ron Hall.

We always have wonderful discussions with our group and welcome anyone to join. We are very informal. Hope to see you on Wednesday, November 29th at 10:00 am at the library.
